The thermal maple technique involves torrefaction, which transforms the wood's color and highlights its natural grain. As a result, the board may have a slight "smokehouse" scent due to the high-temperature treatment.

Each board boasts distinctive grain patterns that may result in variations in design color. The photo shown is the actual board available for purchase.
